Dalyn the Monkey came up to Auckland for Big Day Out 2006. Join him on his adventures...

Monkey does New Zealand

The signs in Bulls are hilarious. That is a town with a lot of pride. If you're not aware... most of the public places have "Bulls" signs... like "Const-a-bull" outside the police station... "Learn-a-bull" outside the school... etc. This was an ATM.

On the tribute to the great working dog, the Huntaway in Hunterville, North of Bulls. Monkey has a soft spot for the mighty Huntaway.

In Mangaweka by the Cookie Time Cookie Aeroplane Cafe.

Next to the Aeroplane Cafe was this craft store with these spooky dummies outside. Monkey thought they were nice but a bit quiet (bahahahaha).

Still in Mangaweka, overlooking some of the many lovely cliffs and such.

Monkey sitting on the top of my car on the side of the Desert Road, oblivious to what was behind him.

An attractive Nordic looking chap with a camera distracted Monkey from his posing and then he noticed the mountains (as you can see, he is visibly shocked.)

He refers to Ruapehu (obscured by the clouds behind him) as "the big beefy mountain".

And of course, with Mt Doom. They look so small here, but really.... so impressive we had to throw goats.

Feeling a little hot and bothered, Monkey insisted we pull over so he could relax in Mission Bay, just outside of Taupo.

Monkey next to Lake Taupo.

such a naughty little monkey.

At Huka Falls in Taupo. He dropped his Snickers bar into the water.

After a long car trip full of highs and lows (and tears over the Snickers) little Dalyn was all tuckered out and passed out in my hotel room bed. I particularly enjoyed the way the house keeping staff would make the bed every morning and prop Monkey up in the pillows. I'm sure he appreciated it too.
